Carotid Doppler
Carotid Doppler is the assessment of the carotid arteries, the main arteries supplying blood to the brain.
Blockages (or lipid depositions) in these arteries can lead to strokes. A stroke (paralytic attack) can be debilitating. Thus in a patient when there is suspicion, a carotid doppler can help assess the presence of blocks, their location, their severity, etc.
In case of blockages treatment can be medical management with or without angioplasty / bypass of the carotids depending upon the location & severity of the disease.
